Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: July 2026

Fillmore Outdoors is a publication of FLMOR Media, LLC, a Texas limited liability company. As this site grows, we participate — or will participate — in affiliate programs operated by retailers and brands. Where affiliate links appear, clicking one and making a purchase may earn us a commission at no additional cost to you. Those commissions are how we intend to fund this work: the gear we test under real training, the time we spend writing, and the cost of running the site.

The current, honest state of things

We're early. We apply to affiliate programs as our content library and traffic justify them, and this page will always reflect the programs we're actually enrolled in. Expected programs include Amazon Associates and outdoor retailers such as REI, Backcountry, Running Warehouse, and Public Lands; until enrollment is live, links to those retailers (if any) earn us nothing. When that changes, this page changes first.

How this affects what we write

It doesn't. We write what we actually think, including when that means criticizing a popular product or recommending you not buy something. If we recommend a product, it's because we've tested it under logged training, used it, or researched it thoroughly enough to stand behind the recommendation. The commission a retailer pays never determines whether we recommend a product — and we will tell you if we've found a better option that pays us nothing. The training casebook itself is never sponsored: no program, block, or report is influenced by any commercial relationship.

FTC compliance

This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR §255 guidelines on endorsements and testimonials. We clearly label affiliate links wherever they appear in our content, and we never accept payment for positive coverage of a product.
